In the mid-early semeter, Mrs. Stollar Slover had everyone read back-to-back short stories. One of these short stories was called, the Bet. When we were finished with the novel, the teacher had us work on a Theme Diagram. In this diagram, we answered three big questions.
- How does the protagonist change throughout the story?
Summary of my response: The protagonist enters the bet with pride comes out insane.
- How is the story's main conflict resolved?
Summary of my response: The lawyer ends the bet and doesn't accept the money.
- What does the title of the story suggest?
Summary of my response: It was the bet that shaped the entire plot of the story.
